Blue Ridge Chair Works and their founder, Alan Davis, was featured in NCEDP's feature: North Carolina Again Wins Grant Helping Hundreds of Small Businesses Increase Exports.
"Those companies have included Asheville’s Blue Ridge Chair Works, which produces Appalachian-style outdoor furniture out of its main Franklin, N.C., factory. The company, which employs 15 skilled woodworkers and laborers in Franklin, recently used STEP funds to cover travel and lodging for two employees attending the 2017 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City, Utah. From closing floor sales to connecting to a new international distributor, the trip was a solid success.
“It would have taken months of research and emails and expensive travel to accomplish what we did in four days,” said Alan Davis, founder and owner of Blue Ridge Chair Works. “The STEP program has allowed us to create tremendous momentum in our quest for global domination in furniture for outdoor active living.”"
