Fall is the perfect season to try and explore some local activities in your area. Once the heat wave dies down and the need to sit inside a cool room fades away, you can spend the weekend enjoying the outdoors! Fall can be a busy time with fall festivals, football games or camping reservations every weekend, so we put together some options for your next outing. Try something new this season and bring the whole family along for the journey!
1) Corn Maze
Nothing says fall like a corn maze! Pull out those scarfs from the closet and a pair of boots, and head to your local corn maze for a fun afternoon. Not only are they a great time for the little ones but you can usually find some fresh produce in the area and feel good knowing you are helping your local farmers. Have some fun and don’t get lost!
2) Haunted House
It’s that time of the year already. Candy corn, snickers and all the candy under the sun is already lining the grocery stores, amping up for Halloween. If you are not sure about what holiday is coming up just head to your local pharmacy or grocery store and you will have your answer! Suggest a haunted house outing with your co-workers to get to know them a little better. The laughs will go on for days!

Feel like you want to get away but don’t have the time or cash? Stay local and still get away for the weekend in a local Airbnb. Maybe there’s a small mountain town an hour away or a village nearby you’ve never been too before. Take a mini-vacation and get to know your surroundings. Airbnb’s are a great way to get local suggestions for things to do in town.
4) Take a hike
Explore a new park and discover some fall foliage around you! With the abundance of new apps and outdoor websites it has become easier than ever to get out and find a trail near you. Type in your zip code in the AllTrails App and explore what is in your area. Take off on a day hike or find a spot to camp to enjoy the weekend in the outdoors. Pack along a Caravan Chair for a nice rest after the hike or for a seat around the campfire.
5) Outdoor Concert
Fall is a great time to find some free or relatively cheap concerts or outdoor festivities. Check the local paper or online listings to find events in your town. From music festivals to a family friendly fair this is the perfect season for some outdoor fun in the sun!
6) Hot-air balloon ride
Looking to explore your wild side? Okay, a hot air balloon doesn’t sound crazy and dangerous, but they really are a thrill! Fly high above the trees and view fall foliage from a different angle this year. Surprise a significant other with an outing they won’t forget. Plus, they make for some gorgeous photos!

7) Make a new recipe
Try something new in the kitchen if you feel like staying in. Swing by the local market or grocery mart for all the ingredients, maybe pick up some pumpkin beer to enjoy while you cook and have at it! The amount of butternut squash, pumpkin, cinnamon spice and apple recipes out there are endless. We know just reading this is making you salivate. Use the Blue Ridge Folding Side Table for some extra counter space in the kitchen or for an outdoor table when it is time to eat. Good luck!
What will you try this season?
