Delicious Fall Beverages for your next Holiday Gathering

The holidays are right around the corner along with party planning and holiday vacations! Having friends and family home for the season can be such a fun time with warm food and delicious beverages. If you will be the host of the gathering, preparing a fun cocktail menu can be a fun way to spice up the evening. Gather the ingredients for a few alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages so everyone can enjoy the holiday spirit!

1) Autumn Fizz

This a great option for a Thanksgiving gathering or light cocktail hour. This light drink is perfect for a fall day outdoors! 

What you will need: 

 2 oz Gin

0.25 oz lemon juice

Agave nectar

Sparkling apple cider

Garnished with Thyme and apple

Instructions: Pour gin in shaker, add lemon juice and agave nectar, shake, and then pour into a high ball glass and top with sparkling cider. Garnish with fresh thyme and an apple slice.

2) Apple Cider Mimosas

You can’t go wrong with flavored mimosas! Light on alcohol content and the perfect boost of sugar to get you moving in the morning. If you have family staying over this is a quick and easy beverage option for morning breakfast or brunch.

What you will need:

2 tbsp. sugar

Ground cinnamon

1 c. apple cider

1 bottle of bubbly

Instructions: On a small plate, combine sugar and cinnamon. Dip champagne flutes in water to wet the rims, then dip in cinnamon sugar mixture.

Fill champagne flutes 1/4 full with apple cider, then top off with champagne. Enjoy!

3) Whiskey Sour

The perfect crowd pleaser. A Whiskey Sour is perfect for an after-dinner cocktail on a chilly night. Serve around an outdoor fire or relax indoors for this beverage.

What you will need:

1.5 oz Bulleit Bourbon

1 tsp lemon juice

.5 tsp sugar

Orange slice

Maraschino cherry

Instructions: Add bourbon, lemon juice, and sugar to cocktail shaker. Shake with ice and strain into chilled rocks glass. Garnish with orange slice and maraschino cherry.

4) Pumpkin Spice White Hot Chocolate

Skip the pies and cakes and go for a warm beverage instead! This alcohol-free option is a delicious fall treat. Homemade hot chocolate is the perfect sweet spot after an outdoor activity.

What you will need:

1 cup of heavy cream

2 cups of milk

1 cup of good quality white chocolate chips

1/2 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin spice

Whipped cream and additional pumpkin spice to sprinkle on top.

5) Warm and Spicy Autumn Punch

Hosting a bigger crowd for the holidays? A big bowl of punch can be the way to go! This is a great option to add a delicious fall smell to the home as well. If there will be all ages at the gathering you can make one batch with alcohol and one without. Just make sure to label appropriately.
